Role Objective:

Key objective of this role is to provide strategic leadership, direction and oversight to both Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management functions globally. This will ensure optimal efficiency, adherence to quality standards and alignment with organizational growth targets. By driving strategic planning, excellent execution, regulatory compliance, cost control with work culture of accountability & collaboration, this role will contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.


Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical) & Pharmaceutical Sciences. Advanced certifications in manufacturing management or quality control are advantageous, with a minimum of 15-18 years of experience. Prior experience in Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing operations within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry supplying regulated markets, demonstrating a strong track record of success in previous leadership positions is a clear expectation. This background equips the candidate with the expertise to navigate the complexities of the industry and drive operational excellence.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple global manufacturing sites, demonstrating a deep understanding of operational excellence, quality compliance across diverse geographical locations.
  • Extensive expertise in overseeing global supply chain and inventory management, effectively handling direct and distribution channels to optimize product availability, reduce lead times and ensure seamless delivery to meet customer demand.
  • In-depth knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and other relevant regulatory standards is essential, for ensuring strict compliance and adherence to quality and safety requirements like US FDA, MHRA, ANVISA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability in development/execution of manufacturing strategy, digitization initiatives (Supply Chain & Manufacturing related), for seamless alignment of manufacturing goals with broader organizational objectives in driving the company's growth and competitiveness.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts cutting across functions and geographies.
  • Proficiency in crisis management, showcasing the capability to make informed objective decisions under pressure and provide clear direction to teams.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills, ensuring efficient resource allocation and achievement of financial targets.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to align operational strategies with various organizational functions, facilitating cross-functional coordination in a dynamic business environment including interfacing with R&D on new product development and other facility expansion opportunities with project management.


Role Requirements:

  • Direct, administer and coordinate internal operational activities in line with organizational policies, goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the development and promotion of short-term and long-range plans and budgets, recommending their adoption to management.
  • Develop and establish operating policies consistent with management's broad objectives, ensuring their effective execution.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions in manufacturing operations and the supply of the company product portfolio.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Facilitate the resolution of interdepartmental issues, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Take charge efficiently during high-priority crises, ensuring direct management of company operations to meet budgetary requirements and control the cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Develop short-term and long-term planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, allocate resources, and assess policies for the Tier-2 team to achieve higher productivity and capacity utilization.
  • Foster operational alignment with other functions, managing the inventory levels and stock out situation along with initiation of timely and appropriate CAPA execution to prevent recurrence of the incidents.
  • Guide the team to identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, stay informed about global supply chain trends and geopolitical factors.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers and logistics providers to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.


Functional Skills:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Ability to develop and execute short-term and long-range plans aligned with organizational objectives and business goals.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Proficient in developing and managing short-term and long-term budgets, ensuring adherence to business targets.
  • Supply Chain Management: In-depth knowledge and experience in leading, supervising and guiding the supply chain management, logistics and procurement departments to optimize processes and achieve operational goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide leadership to Manufacturing teams in complying with regulatory standards, especially Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in adherence to quality and safety requirements including customer audit requirements.

  • Strategic Partnership Building: Proficient in establishing strategic partnerships with key suppliers and logistics providers to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Ability to connect & mange large groups employees with diverse cultural/ ethnic backgrounds in manufacturing location in India (3 plants) & Ireland (2 plants).


Reporting Relationship & Team size:

  • Position reports to CMD.
  • Lead a cross-functional team in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, overseeing direct reports from GM & AGM levels with a total team size of 500 + strength and up to 8 direct reports across multiple manufacturing sites in India and International.


Profile Requirements:

  • B Pharm/M. Pharm / B Tech / M Tech (Mechanical/Chemical Engineering) from a reputed University/Institute with minimum 15+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical / Medical device industries.
  • Handled large teams of total size of 500 - 700 employees across India / international locations.
  • Excellent ability in communicating and connecting with all stake holders and provide inspiring leadership to teams.
  • Superior work ethics in terms of process orientation, quality consciousness, achievement drive and forge win – win relationships throughout the Organization.
