Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled RPG Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in iSeries/AS400/Power i technologies and a deep understanding of RPG programming. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications in AS400 environments, with a focus on high-quality coding and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Application Development and Maintenance:
• Design, code, and maintain applications using RPG/400, RPG IV, and RPG ILE, including free-format RPG.
• Write, debug, and modify CL/CLLE programs for process automation and system integration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements.
2. Database Management:
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and Query/400 scripts for efficient data retrieval and management.
• Ensure the accuracy and performance of data transactions within the system.
3. System Testing and Support:
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure application stability and reliability.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes in a timely manner.
4. Documentation and Process Compliance:
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all developed applications and processes.
• Follow established coding standards, change management, and version control procedures.
5. Collaboration and Training:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and testers, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Assist junior developers and provide technical guidance as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong expertise in iSeries/AS400/Power i systems .
• Proficiency in RPG/400 , RPG IV , RPG ILE , and free-format RPG programming.
• Advanced knowledge of CL/CLLE scripting .
• Hands-on experience with SQL and Query/400 for database operations.
• Familiarity with the financial industry and its system requirements.
Desirable Technical Skills:
• Experience with Rational Developer for i (RDi) or WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSC) .
• Knowledge of Aldon Change Management System or similar tools for version control and change tracking.
