Engineering Manager

For our India team, we are actively seeking a strong engineering leader who can lead a cross-functional team to design and develop industry-leading audio solutions and products. You will help us build and lead a high-performing team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers that’s empowered to do the best work of their lives every day.


In this key role, you will drive the day-to-day activities to meet the overall program objectives focusing on engineering, development and validation cycles. This involves engaging with the management team in US for vision alignment and executing the plan while fostering company values and culture in our fast growing India organization. 



Duties  

1.⁠ ⁠Product Support:  Help define products and drive closure of technical requirements in early stages of projects.

2.⁠ ⁠Program & Project Management : Manage program features, schedules, budgets, critical paths, and technology risks. Handle all project phases from prototypes to final builds, including corrective actions.

3.⁠ ⁠Design & Build:  Drive design releases, tooling kickoffs, and sample builds both in-house and with vendors to meet deadlines.

4.⁠ ⁠Team Coordination:  Manage projects across teams, vendors, and customers to meet cost and schedule targets.

5.⁠ ⁠Testing and Debugging:  Actively participate in testing and debugging of amplifiers and speakers until final approval.

6.⁠ ⁠Own  Engineering  Documentation:  Maintain drawings, specifications, schematics, design packages, BOM, and test plans.

 7.⁠ ⁠Daily Activities:  Drive daily tasks to meet project goals, organize and run meetings with engineering stakeholders.

8.⁠ ⁠Progress Updates:  Provide updates to key stakeholders and executive management via written and verbal communication.



Education/Experience/Attitude:

a)   At least 10 years experience  in developing Consumer Electronics, with at least 3+ yrs in a lead / management position. 

b)   Strong EE background  preferred with proficiency in Altium ECAD, Oscilloscope, AP Win, Spectrum Analyzer, RF probes.

c)    Love for Product (electrical) design  is a must, with work experience and a degree to prove it (BSEE, MSEE preferred)

d)   Familiarity with Software Development  in C/C++, Visual Basic for Firmware and UI apps will be helpful (to manage developers)

e)   Strong familiarity with FCC/CE compliance testing procedures and equipment will be helpful (to direct external laboratories) 

f)    Hands-on experience with electronics mass manufacturing is a strong plus.

g)   Monitor or anticipate industry trends, regulatory developments, and supply chain issues.

h)   Experience interfacing with cross functional teams  including ID, ME, EE, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Marketing.

i)     Working experience with APAC manufacturing and engineering firms (aka JDM/CM partners)

j)     Familiarity with tech’ involved in audio playback signal chain, (loudspeakers, amplifiers and signal processing) will be a plus.

k)    Excellent Organizational, Presentation  and Communication skills .

l)     Excellent Prioritization skills, Focus  and Initiative .

m)  Strong critical thinking  and problem solving skills .

n)   Experience with hiring, setting KPIs, performance reviews and mentoring team members.

o)   Knowledge of product development especially Electrical Engineering fundamentals, board bring up, testing and qualification. 

p)   Strong attention to detail  and ability to effectively manage complex design strategies.

q)   Successful track record in developing consumer products with high aesthetic quality.

r)    You love the smell of solder in the morning,  AND Love for Music or being a musician is big plus
