Job Description: Join us in building a Better Bank by driving change initiatives within our Group IT. You will become part of an IT area of high priority in the bank, with the vision of truly changing the way the bank functions. We are seeking an experienced software developer with extensive knowledge of Mainframes, DevOps, and Cloud.
About the Team: You will be joining the TECH Strategy and Acceleration (TS&A) team, responsible for driving IT transformation. Our goal is to enable the development community to be fully compliant and realize their productivity potential by offering an internal Development Platform for the end-to-end System Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will collaborate closely with the Mainframe Development Tools (MDT) squad and the Mainframe CI/CD repositories (MCRM) squad.
Key Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expert:
- Acting as a subject matter expert on IBM Developer for Z-series (IDz) and the related technical platform suite.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on Mainframes and its internal setup.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on various IBM Mainframe tools and languages.
- Accelerating mainframe modernization with DevOps and Cloud.
- Knowledge of CI/CD process flow for the z/OS mainframe.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on Problem Determination tools like Debugger, Fault Analyser, and File Manager.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on Cobol and PL1 compilers.
Development, Customization, and Testing:
- Work with plugin development and customization of the Mainframe tool using Java.
- Troubleshooting and debugging the internal setup of the tools.
- Working with CI/CD pipelines by adopting DevOps with Cloud knowledge.
- Practices of testing with a focus on test automation.
- Continually improving tools, processes, and procedures.
- Passionate about working on Full stack development opportunities.
Maintenance and Support:
- Build, maintain, and scale the infrastructure of the development environment and systems.
- Work with third-party vendors to resolve infrastructure issues if needed.
- Own production incidents/issues and provide level 3 responses to infrastructure/tools related incidents and alerts.
- Write and maintain technical infrastructure documentation.

- Knowledge on DevOps and Cloud is a must
- Quick learner and adaptable to new technologies
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Mainframe Administration activities is a plus.
- Knowledge of CICS and MQs would be an added advantage.
- Experience with Testing Tools and practices would be beneficial.
- Experience working in large-scale agile organizations is a plus.
Soft Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication skills.
- Keen analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to decompose complex processes into understandable components.
- Proficiency in automating and optimizing processes.
- Ability to inspire and motivate large groups of people.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in working with software development on mainframes and distributed environments.
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, IT-related field, or similar.
