O365 Exchange Administrator

RoleWe are seeking an experienced consultant to join our team as an O365 Exchange Administrator with strong Azure skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience managing and optimizing Microsoft 365 Exchange environments while leveraging Azure cloud services. This role requires a seasoned professional who can architect, implement, and maintain enterprise-level messaging and collaboration solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesExchange Online AdministrationMaintain Exchange Online environments for the enterprise.Manage mail flow, transport rules, and message hygiene policiesHandle mailbox migrations from on-premises Exchange or other email platformsTroubleshoot complex messaging issues and provide tier-3 supportImplement and manage retention policies, litigation holds, and eDiscovery processes.Proofpoint AdministrationConfigure and manage Proofpoint Protection Server (PPS), Proofpoint on Demand (PoD), and SER (Secure Email Relay).Manage Proofpoint TAP (Targeted Attack Protection) and URL Defense.Manage data loss prevention (DLP) policies within Proofpoint.Perform regular security reviews and optimize Proofpoint configurations.Generate and analyze Proofpoint security reports and metrics.Azure Infrastructure ManagementDesign and implement Azure infrastructure solutions to support O365 services.Configure Azure AD Connect for hybrid identity scenariosManage Entra, including conditional access policies and MFAImplement Azure networking solutions for secure O365 connectivityMonitor and optimize Azure resource utilization and costsConfigure Azure backup and disaster recovery solutions for O365 workloadsSecurity and ComplianceImplement security best practices for Exchange Online and Azure environmentsEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirementsPerform security assessments and vulnerability managementDocument security configurations (Hardening) and maintain audit trailsAutomation and Infrastructure as CodeDevelop automation scripts using PowerShell for O365 and Azure managementCreate and maintain Infrastructure as Code templates using Ansible or TerraformImplement CI/CD pipelines for automated deploymentsBuild reusable modules and playbooks for common administrative tasksDocument automation workflows and maintain version controlRequired QualificationsTechnical Experience5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft O365 Exchange administration, Azure cloud services, and 3-5 years of experience with Proofpoint email security platform3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible or Terraform)Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automationDeep understanding of email security, anti-spam, and anti-malware solutionsTechnical SkillsExpert-level knowledge of Exchange Online architecture, PAM, and featuresProficiency in Azure services including Azure AD, Virtual Networks, and StorageAdvanced knowledge of Proofpoint email security solutionsExperience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance featuresStrong understanding of DNS, SMTP, SPF, DKIM, and DMARCFamiliarity with monitoring tools and performance optimizationKnowledge of Microsoft Purview for data governance and complianceFamiliarity with other O365 workloads (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)Knowledge of email archiving and journaling solutionsCertifications (Preferred)Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity FundamentalsSoft SkillsExcellent communication, documentation abilities, and Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projectsTeam collaboration and knowledge sharing mindset.Proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.Consulting ResponsibilitiesProvide expert guidance on O365 and Azure best practices.Lead knowledge
