Position Building Services – Senior Electrical Services EngineerLocation: Anywhere in IndiaPosition overview:The job of our MEP Senior Engineer is a crucial part of our product offering, delivering the most advanced work environments for our clients. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of experience who is skilled and experienced in all areas of detailed electrical services design.You will have a diverse background and be ready to lead and coordinate internal project teams in MEP Engineering-related services through all the project stages. You will take special consideration, supporting our consultancy and design & build teams in developing strong design intent and preserving the design quality of a project, mitigating potential issues during construction. As our Senior Electrical Services Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of engineering-related project design and will oversee several projects at different stages simultaneously.Responsibilities:Concept & Detailed Design Development – Support our regional engineering teams by understanding the clients requirements, conducting and/or supervising detailed calculations, equipment and infrastructure sizing, and developing schematic strategy drawings and detailed electrical services layouts for different design stages.Lighting System Design & Analysis – Reviewing the lighting simulations and lux level calculations given by the cosultants using tools like Dialux, Relux, and AGi32 to meet project requirements. Reviewing the Developed and specified interior, exterior, and emergency lighting systems, ensuring compliance with energy efficiency and safety standards.Daylighting analysis – Reviewing and Integrating daylighting strategies into electrical design for improved energy efficiency and occupant comfort.Cross-Regional Project Coordination – Work with engineering project teams in North America, Europe and Singapore to define project scope and support BIM coordination.Regulatory & Code Compliance – Research and ensure compliance with local electrical building codes, certification requirements (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS7671, NFPA 70, NBC), and client-specific MEP standards.Sustainability & Energy Efficiency – Integrate energy-efficient electrical solutions, and support sustainability goals such as low-carbon building strategies.Risk & Quality Management – Identify and mitigate potential risks in Electrical system designs, ensuring quality standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with Clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure project requirements are met and effectively communicate technical concepts.Financial – Assist project management and procurement teams in technical and commercial evaluations, providing value-engineering solutions to optimize cost efficiency.Innovation & Emerging Technologies – Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Electrical building services, incorporating smart building technologies and digital twin methodologies where applicable.Mentorship & Leadership – Support the professional development of junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.Qualifications & Key CompetenciesTechnical Expertise:Minimum 8+ years of experience specializing in Electrical engineering services within the building design and construction field.Strong understanding of MEP system design and integration with other disciplines including architecture, mechanical and plumbing, acoustics and fire protection services.Experience in developing and reviewing basis of designs (BODs), Design Breief Reviews (DBR’s) detailed design documentation, and scope gap analyses.Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting design, emergency & life safety systems, and sustainable building technologies.Strong knowledge of lighting design principles, photometric calculations, and emergency lighting requirements.Understanding of electrical and lighting system calculations tools including lighting design tools (Dialux, Relux, AGi32, or equivalent).Familiarity with BIM and Revit MEP coordination, ensuring seamless integration of MEP disciplines.Proficient in electrical system calculation tools, including Amtech, Dialux, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or equivalent.Knowledge of relevant codes and standards in North America, Europe, or other key regions (e.g., IEC, BS7671, NFPA 70, CIBSE, ASHRAE).Understanding of LEED, WELL, and other sustainability frameworks.Ability to conduct code compliance assessments and technical due diligence reports.Project & Team Leadership:Experience in managerial or supervisory roles, leading multidisciplinary MEP teams.Ability to mentor and train junior engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and skills development.Strong project management skills, ensuring delivery of high-quality engineering solutions within budget and schedule.Software & Digital Tools Proficiency:Proficient in creating design documentation in Adobe Acrobat, Auto CAD, Navisworks and Revit MEP (desired),Strong grasp of electrical system analysis tools (e.g., Amtech, ETAP, Dialux)Skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) for reporting and technical documentation.Education:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent certification (preferred).Membership with professional bodies such as CIBSE, IEEE, IET, or equivalent (preferred).What we offer to youAn exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projectsA collaborative, vibrant and diverse working environment where to develop further your career along with best in class professionalsHybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 remote)Be part of our living labs initiatives to test innovative solutions for our clients
