Job Description
The Mainframe Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security and operational integrity of mainframe systems by managing work orders, incidents, and change tasks within Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role demands a thorough understanding of mainframe security technologies, particularly with Enterprise Security Managers like RACF, and requires managing the team’s incident and change queues. Candidates with certifications like CISSP, CISA, or CISM are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Work Order Management : Own the work order queue, ensuring all work orders are closed within specified SLAs.
Incident and Change Management : Oversee and manage incidents and change tasks assigned to the team, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with SLAs.
Mainframe Security Expertise : Maintain deep knowledge of Enterprise Security Managers (ESM) for mainframes, such as RACF, to uphold and enhance security standards.
Technical Knowledge : Utilize expertise in REXX and JCL to support security configurations, troubleshooting, and automation on mainframe systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Mainframe Security : Extensive experience with Mainframe Enterprise Security Managers (ESM) like RACF.
Technical Proficiency : Working knowledge of REXX (Restructured Extended Executor) and JCL (Job Control Language).
Certifications : CISSP, CISA, or CISM preferred, showcasing a solid foundation in information security principles.
Process Management : Strong skills in managing work orders, change tasks, and incident handling within SLAs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a high-security mainframe environment.
Strong attention to detail, process-oriented mindset, and excellent communication skills.
