Junior Mechanical EngineerThe role under supervision will create tooling design, drawings and work instructions for the manufacturing processes. The individual will learn sheet metal forming methods (draw forming, hot forming etc.) and understand aerospace manufacturing standards (AS9100, NADCAP). Understand the different materials and tools used in making of complex parts. Participate in cost estimation of bids, preparation of technical proposals. Collaborate with engineers and others in improving forming processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance quality. Assist in resolution of technical issues during production, find practical solutions, minimize downtime and maintain quality. Contribute to optimize manufacturing processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes. Track key performance indicators (KPIs). Participate in audits, reviews, and customer meetings as required.Responsibilities:Create CAD drawings of press tools, fixtures, and revise manufacturing drawingsManage engineering tooling drawings, liaison with outside tooling support servicesAnalyse and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issuesPrepare process documentation, revise work methods when requiredSimplify machine setup and tool changeovers, improve uptimeImplement machine and equipment upgrades and other improvement solutionsOversee tooling maintenance, upkeep and repair schedulesAssist in preparation of safety manuals and conduct periodic safety auditsQualifications:Ability to read engineering drawings including GD&T and annotationsWorking knowledge of CATIA, SolidWorks and AutoCAD and MS Office suiteExpected – ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in EnglishPersonality - analytical, questioning status quo, adaptable to change, trainableSoft skills such as communication, teamwork, creativity, flexibleBachelor in mechanical engineering or Diploma in mechanical space and having mechanical aptitude
