Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BIM Coordinator with a strong background in Hospitality and Retail design and construction. In this role, you will oversee and manage the BIM (Building Information Modeling) process across complex projects in the retail and hospitality sectors. Your expertise in BIM will ensure the seamless integration of design and construction workflows, effective coordination between multidisciplinary teams, and the delivery of high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective project outcomes.

As a Senior BIM Coordinator, you will be a key leader in managing the digital modeling, ensuring that all project teams are aligned with BIM standards and project objectives. You will also be instrumental in resolving design conflicts, improving project efficiency, and ensuring that all BIM outputs support both the design vision and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BIM Coordination and Implementation:
  • Lead the implementation and management of BIM across all teams for hospitality and retail projects, ensuring models are developed according to project specifications and within the specified project timelines.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of Revit models, ensuring they are consistent with the project’s design and construction requirements.
  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams:
  • Work closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and data sharing.
  • Manage the integration of design information across multiple platforms and ensure all models are properly coordinated across disciplines.
  • BIM Model Development & Management:
  • Develop, manage, and update 3D models, ensuring that the information in the BIM system is accurate, complete, and in alignment with project goals.
  • Support design development and generate BIM models for conceptual, schematic, and detailed design phases.
  • Clash Detection & Coordination:
  • Perform clash detection using tools like Navisworks to identify design conflicts and coordination issues early in the design phase, minimizing rework and delays during construction.
  • Facilitate the resolution of identified clashes with the project teams, ensuring that solutions are implemented effectively.
  • BIM Execution & Compliance:
  • Develop and implement the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to define processes, protocols, and expectations for the project.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards, industry regulations, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle, including ISO 19650 standards and AIA BIM protocols .
  • Modeling & Visualization:
  • Lead the generation of 3D visualizations, walkthroughs, and renderings for client presentations, design reviews, and project team coordination.
  • Provide support for design decision-making through effective visualization techniques that enhance client understanding.
  • Training & Mentoring:
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior BIM coordinators, designers, and other team members, promoting best practices and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Conduct training sessions on BIM tools and processes, ensuring that team members are up-to-date on the latest BIM technologies and methodologies.
  • Project Management Support:
  • Assist project managers by ensuring timely and efficient BIM deliverables, including 3D models, clash reports, quantities, and documentation.
  • Support the management of project schedules by tracking and coordinating the delivery of BIM-related tasks in alignment with overall project milestones.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
  • Regularly communicate BIM-related progress to internal teams, clients, and external consultants.
  • Prepare BIM progress reports, highlighting key milestones, risks, and any issues that need resolution.
  • Sustainability & Efficiency Integration:
  • Support sustainable design practices through the use of BIM, including energy modeling and material optimization for retail and hospitality projects.
  • Collaborate with the design team to integrate efficient building systems and sustainable solutions into the BIM process.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (BArch ) or a related field. Master’s degree in BIM, architecture, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in BIM coordination, with at least 8+ years of hands-on experience in hospitality and retail projects .
  • Proven experience working with large-scale, complex projects, particularly in the retail and hospitality sectors such as hotels, resorts, retail stores, restaurants, and other commercial spaces.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in BIM software tools, including Autodesk Revit , Navisworks , BIM 360 , and AutoCAD .
  • Proficient in clash detection , 3D modeling , and coordination techniques, particularly within the context of multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards and protocols such as ISO 19650 , AIA BIM Protocols , and BS 1192 .
  • Project Management & Leadership:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate large teams across multiple disciplines and effectively deliver projects within scope, time, and budget.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing priorities, and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of liaising with project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless collaboration and the successful delivery of projects.
  • Ability to present complex BIM information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve BIM-related challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior team members in BIM processes and best practices, creating a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications:
  • Certifications in BIM or Autodesk products (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional , BIM Manager Certification ) are a plus.
  • Industry Experience:
  • Experience with hospitality and retail design specifically, including hotels, resorts, malls, restaurants, and commercial spaces.
