Role Overview:
As a Senior Dev Ops Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our microservice-based solutions' infrastructure and deployment pipelines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and operations, to ensure efficient and scalable deployment of our cloud-based applications. Your expertise in containerization, orchestration, automation, and working with various AWS services will be vital in driving the success of our Dev Ops practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable and reliable infrastructure for microservice-based solutions using a wide range of AWS services, including AWS Fargate, Code Commit, Code Build, Code Pipeline, SNS, SQS, ECS, Docker, Amazon Cognito, RDS, S3, EC2, Route53, Cloud Front, Lambda, VPC, EFS, API Gateway, AWS Certificate Manager, Cloud Watch, Load Balancer, and Terraform.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS Code Commit, Code Build, and Code Pipeline to automate application deployment, testing, and monitoring.
Collaborate with development teams to define and implement best practices for building, packaging, and deploying microservices using Docker and container orchestration platforms like Amazon ECS.
Configure and manage event-driven architectures using AWS SNS and SQS for efficient communication and processing between microservices.
Ensure the infrastructure and applications' security, availability, and performance by implementing appropriate monitoring, alerting, and scaling mechanisms using tools like Cloud Watch.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in production and non-production environments.
Continuously evaluate and improve existing Dev Ops processes, tools, and technologies.
Optimize the usage of AWS services to reduce costs without compromising performance and scalability.
Review and analyze the allocation of resources to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop strategies for cost optimization and provide recommendations based on usage patterns and business requirements.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the Dev Ops and cloud space.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer working on microservice-based solutions.
Strong proficiency with AWS services, including AWS Fargate, Code Commit, Code Build, Code Pipeline, SNS, SQS, ECS, Docker, Amazon Cognito, RDS, S3, EC2, Route53, Cloud Front, Lambda, VPC, EFS, API Gateway, AWS Certificate Manager, Cloud Watch, Load Balancer, and Terraform.
In-depth understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Amazon ECS.
Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using AWS Code Commit, Code Build, Code Pipeline, Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, or similar tools.
Solid scripting and automation skills with programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Ia C) concepts and tools like AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform.
Knowledge of monitoring and log management tools like Cloud Watch,.
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
