At Sky Specs, our mission is to simplify renewable asset management so less can do more for the planet. Sky Specs is helping to make this possible by automating the operations and maintenance of wind farms using advanced robotics paired with our custom-built asset performance management software, Horizon. Sky Specs launched the world’s first completely autonomous blade inspection product in 2016 with a custom-designed drone system. Since then, Sky Specs has inspected over 90% of the wind turbines in the US and we’ve expanded globally, becoming the world leader in understanding the health of turbine blades. Identifying issues with turbine blades is only the first step. In 2019, Sky Specs launched Horizon, a platform for Sky Specs to offer a multi-layered solution for customers that includes: data collection, wind turbine blade engineering expertise, and a place for all stakeholders to collaborate to manage and analyze massive amounts of data, spot trends, and create plans for high-cost repair campaigns. In 2021, Sky Specs acquired two companies specializing in wind turbine drivetrain monitoring and financial management, further expanding our asset management portfolio. Ultimately, this will help reduce the cost and risk of operations for the industry. What will you be getting into? Sky Specs is seeking a senior business analyst who will gain a deep understanding of Sky Specs’s products and work with various stakeholders throughout the organization to coordinate multiple product activities. You will be tasked with helping Sky Specs take one of our products to the next level to continue double-digit growth. The senior business analyst role is a high-visibility role within the organization, and you will have the opportunity to work directly with customers to understand their needs, work with Sky Specs leadership on product strategy, work with Sales and Marketing to build go-to-market materials and work with the technology teams to develop amazing software. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will: Build new products and features by combining existing ideas with new ideas from your experience and interactions with customers, users, and prospects. You will need to have a deep technical understanding of the Sky Specs products, as well as a big-picture understanding of the challenges that face our customers and the technologies needed to solve those challenges. You will: Talk to users and customers to better understand their jobs, challenges, and desired outcomes Work with user experience designers and engineering, to define, design and drive implementation and adoption of new features Enable customer support and work with customers to find resolution on their issues Develop relationships with key customers and broaden adoption of our products Requirements of the job: 7+ years of work experience in business analysis or software engineering roles Demonstrated experience in analyzing, documenting, and prioritizing requirements Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders to drive implementation Has a strong understanding of computer systems; in addition, has proficiency in software development methodologies and database Strong written, presentation, and communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders Renewable or wind energy asset management experience is preferable Perks of the Job: Well-defined training budget to upskill based on interest areas Generous Leave Plan that is probably the best in the industry Flexibility: We have a trust-based culture.
