Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core backend systems that power our algorithmic trading systems. You will work closely with our developers and traders to ensure that our systems are scalable, reliable, and capable of handling high-frequency trading operations. Key Responsibilities System Architecture and Development: •⁠ ⁠Design, develop, and optimize backend systems and APIs that support high-performance trading platforms. •⁠ ⁠Implement scalable and efficient algorithms that handle large volumes of data with low latency. •⁠ ⁠Collaborate with front-end developers and quants to integrate trading strategies and ensure seamless data flow. Database Management: •⁠ ⁠Design and maintain robust database schemas that support high-throughput trading systems. •⁠ ⁠Optimize database queries and indexing for performance and scalability. •⁠ ⁠Implement data storage and retrieval solutions that ensure data integrity and availability. Performance Optimization: •⁠ ⁠Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the backend infrastructure. •⁠ ⁠Optimize code and systems for low-latency and high-throughput environments. •⁠ ⁠Conduct performance testing and implement improvements to meet stringent SLAs. Security and Compliance: •⁠ ⁠Ensure backend systems adhere to industry standards and best practices for security and data protection. •⁠ ⁠Implement security protocols and monitor systems for potential vulnerabilities. Continuous Improvement: •⁠ ⁠Stay updated with the latest developments in backend technologies, trading systems, and algorithmic trading. •⁠ ⁠Propose and implement improvements to the development process, tools, and systems. Experience: •⁠ Experience in backend development, with a focus on high-performance, real-time systems. •⁠ ⁠Previous experience in the financial services industry, particularly in algorithmic trading or fintech, is highly preferred. Technical Skills: •⁠ ⁠Programming Languages : Proficiency in backend languages such as Python and C++. •⁠ ⁠Database Technologies : Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgre SQL, My SQL) and No SQL databases (e.g., Mongo DB, Redis). •⁠ ⁠API Development : Experience in designing and implementing RESTful and/or g RPC APIs. •⁠ ⁠Performance Tuning : Expertise in performance optimization techniques, including profiling, scaling, and concurrency management. •⁠ ⁠Cloud and Dev Ops : Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerisation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
