Woxsen University's AI Research Centre invites applications for a highly motivated and accomplished Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of Cognitive Sciences, Predictive Modelling (including Machine Learning and Deep Learning), and Computational Social Sciences. The successful candidate will drive interdisciplinary projects, leverage large-scale data and computational methods to understand human behaviour and cognition, and contribute to the growth of the Centre's research profile.Note: This is a fully remote and non-remunerated, honorary fellowship position.1. Key Responsibilities- Independent Research: Develop and lead an independent research agenda that integrates Cognitive Sciences principles with advanced Predictive Modelling and Computational Social Sciences methodologies.- Data Analysis & Modelling: Utilize machine learning, deep learning, statistical modelling, and network analysis to process and interpret complex datasets (e.g., social media data, neuroimaging data, behavioral experiments).- Publication: Publish high-impact research findings in leading peer-reviewed journals and present at prestigious international conferences.- Grant Writing: Actively participate in the preparation and submission of research grant proposals to secure external funding.- Collaboration: Work closely with faculty and students within the AI Research Centre and across other schools at Woxsen University (e.g., Business, Technology, Arts & Design).- Mentorship: Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.- Workshops & Seminars: Organize and conduct research seminars, workshops, and potentially contribute to specialized graduate-level courses.2. Essential Qualifications- Education: A Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Quantitative Psychology, Computational Social Science, Neuroscience, or a closely related discipline. Must have completed the Ph.D. within the last five years.- Research Expertise: A strong publication record demonstrating expertise in at least two of the following areas:- Cognitive Science: Human decision-making, attention, memory, language processing, or experimental design in cognitive tasks.- Predictive Modelling/AI: Applied Machine Learning, Deep Learning (e.g., NLP, Computer Vision on behavioral data), Time Series Analysis, or Reinforcement Learning.- Computational Social Science: Social network analysis, agent-based modeling, causal inference on observational social data, or big data analysis of social phenomena.- Technical Skills: High proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science and AI (e.g., Python, R). Experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.3. Duration and Remuneration- Duration: 1 year, renewable based on performance and mutual agreement.- Location: Fully Remote.- Stipend/Salary: This is a non-remunerated, honorary fellowship position. The fellow will receive access to Woxsen University's research resources, library facilities, and collaborative network.
