We are hiring a Sybase Database Engineer with 2-12 years of experience to join our managed services team in Chennai or Bangalore for a 1-year BAU support role. This position requires expertise in Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ, with a focus on automation, performance optimization, and cloud integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and manage scalable Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ configurations, including replication for homogeneous/heterogeneous environments. Automate patch deployments, installations, and BAU tasks using shell scripting or other programming languages. Optimize data storage, retrieval, indexing, query performance, and infrastructure to ensure high efficiency. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, SOX). Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to enhance database operations and interactions. Design and implement DR/resiliency strategies, cloud-based Sybase solutions (Azure/AWS), and technology evolution initiatives (POCs, R&D). Manage database migrations (e.g., Sybase ASE to MSSQL/PostgreSQL) and upgrades. Monitor performance, troubleshoot data corruption, long-running queries, blockings, and deadlocks using tools like Performance Monitor. Handle
