Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Job Purpose:
The Quality Manager oversees the organization’s quality assurance processes, ensuring products or services meet internal and external quality standards. This role includes developing and implementing quality management systems, managing inspections and audits, and leading efforts for continuous improvement. The Quality Manager will also lead NABL and other accreditation certification work suitable for the nature of the business and services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, 13485).
- Ensure processes meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Document and communicate quality policies, procedures, and objectives.
2. Quality Control and Quality Assurance:
- Establish and monitor quality inspection and testing methods.
- Analyze quality performance metrics and recommend corrective actions.
- Establish service quality metrics driving performance improvements
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints or product issues.
3. Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to enhance quality performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
4. Leadership and Training:
- Manage and mentor the quality team, including quality control inspectors and engineers.
- Provide training on quality-related topics to staff at all levels.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
5. Compliance and Audits:
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance with QMS standards.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections or certification processes.
- Maintain records for audits, inspections, and quality-related documentation.
6. Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Establish and monitor quality standards for suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Conduct supplier audits as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in quality management or a related role (5+ years preferred).
- Familiarity with quality standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Working Conditions:
- May require occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.
- Office environment with regular interaction on production floors.
