About the Role: The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Working closely with student interns and fresh graduates, you'll ensure smooth deployment of our FinTech platforms while establishing best practices for continuous integration and delivery. Understanding and experience of multiple tech stacks is essential. Automate build, test, and deployment processes for multiple web applications and APIs Establish automated testing frameworks and code quality checks in deployment workflows Create deployment strategies including blue-green deployments and rolling updates Set up automated rollback mechanisms for failed deployments Cloud Infrastructure & Optimization: Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) Optimize EC2 instances for cost-efficiency and performance (right-sizing, auto-scaling, spot instances) Configure and manage S3 buckets for static assets, backups, and data storage with lifecycle policies Set up and optimize AWS services: Implement AWS cost optimization strategies to minimize cloud spending while maintaining performance Monitor and optimize database performance on RDS and MongoDB Atlas Configure VPC, security groups, and network architecture for secure deployments Testing & Quality Assurance: Implement automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Pytest, Selenium) Set up code coverage tools and enforce quality gates Create integration and end-to-end testing environments Perform load testing and performance benchmarking using tools like Apache JMeter or k6 Debug deployment issues and work with development teams to resolve code problems Establish monitoring for test execution and deployment success rates Monitoring & Observability: Implement application and infrastructure monitoring using CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus Set up logging aggregation and analysis (ELK Stack, CloudWatch Logs) Create dashboards for system health, performance metrics, and deployment tracking Monitor application performance metrics (response times, error rates, throughput) Generate regular reports on system uptime, performance, and cost optimization Implement security best practices for cloud infrastructure (IAM policies, encryption, secrets management) Set up SSL/TLS certificates and configurations Manage AWS Security Groups and Network ACLs Ensure compliance with data protection standards for educational platforms Create comprehensive documentation for deployment processes and infrastructure setup Mentor student interns on DevOps practices and cloud technologies Conduct code reviews focused on deployability and cloud best practices Train team members on AWS services and deployment workflows Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) ~2-4 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or deployment engineering ~ Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route 53) ~ Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Docker Compose) ~ Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration ~ Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Node.js for automation ~ Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) ~ Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, CDN) AWS certification (Solutions Architect Associate, DevOps Engineer, or similar) Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic) Knowledge of database administration (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) Experience with automated testing frameworks and test automation Experience working with development teams in agile environments AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route 53, CloudWatch, IAM) Docker & containerization Linux/Unix administration Bash/Python scripting Nginx/Apache web servers Kubernetes MongoDB Atlas, PostgreSQL SSL/TLS certificate management (Let's Encrypt, AWS Certificate Manager) Compensation Package: Performance Bonus Professional Growth: Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure at scale (1 mln users) Opportunity to build DevOps practices from the ground up Mentorship opportunities with student interns and junior developers Exposure to cutting-edge FinTech and AI/ML technologies Clear path to Senior DevOps Engineer/Infrastructure Lead roles Onsite full time Direct impact on product reliability and user experience Work with modern tech stack and latest AWS services Support innovation in technology that empowers 100,000+ students globally Work on platforms that create real career opportunities for students Role Type: Full-time with equity participation Works closely with 15-25 student developers and interns Key Performance Indicators: Deployment frequency and success rate (target: AWS cost optimization (target: You'll have the opportunity to shape our entire DevOps strategy and establish best practices that will define our technical culture.
