Job Title: Manager – Patent Drafting & ProsecutionLocation: BangaloreEmployment Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Manager – Patent Drafting & Prosecution with 5–8 years of prior experience at a law firm or IP service company. The candidate should have a strong technical background (preferably in Computer Science/IT) and proven expertise in drafting patent applications and preparing office action responses across major jurisdictions, including the US, Europe, and India. He/she should be a registered patent agent. The role also requires managing and mentoring a small team of patent professionals while ensuring the highest standards of quality and client service.Key Responsibilities- Patent Drafting & Prosecution- Independently draft high-quality patent applications in US, EP, and India.- Prepare and review responses to office actions from the USPTO, EPO, and Indian Patent Office.- Ensure all work meets jurisdiction-specific legal and technical requirements.- Project & Team Management- Manage and guide a team of 3–4 Sr. Associates/Associates on drafting and prosecution assignments.- Review drafts prepared by team members, providing detailed feedback to improve quality.- Oversee project timelines, workload distribution, and delivery commitments.- Client Engagement- Collaborate with inventors, in-house counsel, and R&D teams to capture technical inventions.- Provide strategic advice on patentability, prosecution, and portfolio development.- Maintain strong client communication and ensure client satisfaction.- Quality & Process Development- Establish and implement best practices for patent drafting and prosecution.- Provide training and mentorship to team members for professional growth.- Continuously improve processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.Qualifications & Skills- Education:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering (preferred).- Law degree (desirable).- Patent agent qualification (must)- Experience:- 5–8 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution with a law firm or IP services company.- Hands-on experience in drafting patent applications and preparing responses to office actions for US, EP, and India.- Prior experience in managing patent professionals or leading projects.- Skills & Competencies:- Strong understanding of patent laws and prosecution practices across US, EP, and India.- Excellent technical and legal drafting skills with attention to detail.- Ability to manage, mentor, and review work of junior team members.- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.- Client-facing experience with global stakeholders.What We Offer- Leadership role in a growing patent drafting & prosecution practice.- Opportunity to work with global clients across diverse technology domains.- Professional growth through challenging assignments and team leadership.- Competitive compensation and a collaborative work environment.
