As a key member of the Review team, this role upholds the scientific integrity of the Journal and directly supports our mission to advance research through visualization.Responsibilities:- Make final publication decisions by evaluating the scientific validity of submitted manuscripts and their suitability for visualizing the protocol- Review new submissions to ensure that the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and our publication standards- Apply prompt engineering techniques to validate reviewer reports for relevance, completeness, and alignment with journal standards, ensuring consistency while maintaining editorial quality- Use custom AI tools, custom GPTs, and prompt-based workflows to perform pre-QC checks such as identifying formatting issues, missing sections, language clarity, and guideline adherence before peer review- Accelerate article publication through close collaboration with the Production team to move accepted manuscripts efficiently through the production pipeline- Ensure timely editorial workflows by coordinating with peer review and the editorial team to meet review and decision deadlinesRequirements:- A Ph.D. in life sciences, chemical sciences, or engineering- 3+ years of experience with editorial review and submission-to-acceptance workflows- Prior experience in scientific publishing or peer review is preferred- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English- Strong scientific and technical vocabulary- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality content- Willingness to learn and leverage automation/AI-assisted tools for efficiency- Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment- Genuine interest in communicating scientific methods through visual mediaWhy Join JoVE?- Work on projects that leverage cutting‑edge AI to transform visual storytelling.- Collaborate with a highly skilled, creative, and diverse team.- Be part of a rapidly growing organization with a global footprint.- Access opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning in AI‑driven media production.
