About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilledAkamai Subject Matter Expert (SME)to help push the boundaries of Edge Computing for Princess Cruises. This role goes far beyond traditional CDN configuration — you will be owning and engineering the entry point of a large-scale digital ecosystem that serves millions of users globally.Our environment focuses onlow latency, high performance, security, and next-gen edge technologies , including AI at the Edge.Key Responsibilities1. Edge Computing & AI at the EdgeImplement and optimize the latestAkamai AI inferencecapabilities directly at the edge.Deploy and manage models running closer to customers to reduce latency.2. Serverless Logic (EdgeWorkers)Architect, develop, and manage complexAkamai EdgeWorkers .Offload logic from the origin infrastructure to improve reliability, reduce load, and enable real-time personalization.3. Traffic Engineering & PerformanceCreate advancedForwarding Rules , Phased Release policies, and routing strategies.Ensure minimal latency and maximum availability for millions of users.4. Next-Gen SecurityLead AkamaiWAFandBot Managerstrategies.Build robust security layers for a high-traffic global platform.Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance and best practices.5. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork with engineering, architecture, and DevOps teams to continuously innovate the tech stack.Provide SME guidance for large-scale, performance-sensitive applications.Required Skills & Experience5–10+ yearshands-on experience withAkamai CDN and Edge Computing .Expertise with:AkamaiEdgeWorkersAkamaiWAFandBot ManagerTraffic management and routing strategiesAkamaiForwarding Rules , Property Manager, and ConfigurationsExperience designingserverless logicand edge functions.Strong understanding ofweb performance optimization , high-traffic architectures, and low-latency systems.Ability to architect and troubleshoot complex distributed systems.Familiarity with release strategies (Phased Releases, Canary, etc.).Nice-to-HaveExperience working ineCommerce , travel, hospitality, or large consumer-facing platforms.Knowledge of AI/ML model deployment at the edge.Background in security engineering or threat mitigation.Why Join?Work oncutting-edge edge computing innovations .Lead modernization initiatives impacting millions of users.Flexible location options: Remote / Nearshore / Offshore / Hybrid.Opportunity to influence the future of Princess Cruises' digital ecosystem.
