Role Description

We seek a highly knowledgeable and detail-oriented Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Commerce, Business Studies, and Economics to join our editorial team. The SME will ensure content accuracy, relevance, and clarity in our educational publications for Secondary (Class 9-10) and Senior Secondary (Class 11-12) levels. This role requires a deep understanding of the subject matter, a passion for education, and an eye for detail.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Review and Editing: Review, edit, and enhance manuscripts for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the latest curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
  • Content Development: Collaborate with authors and editorial teams to develop high-quality content, including textbooks, workbooks, and supplementary materials for Commerce, Business Studies, and Economics.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Ensure all content is aligned with the latest CBSE/ICSE and state board syllabi, including educational policy and practice updates.
  • Fact-checking: Verify the content's information, data, and statistics accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high editorial standards, ensuring the content is free from errors and inconsistencies.
  • Market Research: Stay updated with the latest trends in education and pedagogy to ensure the content remains relevant and practical.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with authors, illustrators, designers, and other stakeholders to create engaging and informative educational materials.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior editors and authors on subject-specific content development.


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Studies, or a related field.
  • A B.Ed. or a degree in Education is a plus.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in educational content development or editing, preferably in the K-12 segment.
  • Prior experience in teaching at the secondary or senior secondary level is highly desirable.


Skills:

  • Strong command of the English language with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Deep understanding of the CBSE/ICSE curricula and state board syllabi.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
