Job descriptionRole: Data Engineer - Data ModellerExperience - 6+ YearsLocation: Hyderabad (Hybrid)We are looking for a Data Modeller with strong expertise in SQL , Data Modeling , and practical experience with the Power BI . Experience with Python, PySpark, or Spark is a plus. You will be responsible for designing scalable data solutions, building robust data models, and enabling analytics through optimized pipelines and reporting systems.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks.Build and optimize SQL queries with advanced window functions, recursive CTEs, and dynamic SQL.Design dimensional data models (Star, Snowflake) aligned with Kimball methodology.Develop and manage reporting datasets and dashboards in Power BI.Create and manage fact and dimension tables, including handling of SCDs and surrogate keys.Work closely with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements.Optimize performance using indexing, partitioning, and query tuning techniques.Implement data governance, quality, and metadata management practices.Required Skills & Experience:SQL Development:Expert-level SQL with window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), LEAD(), LAG(), etc.Proficient in recursive CTEs, dynamic SQL, pivot/unpivot operations, and error handling.Performance tuning experience and strong understanding of execution plans.Data Modeling:Strong in dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake), fact/dimension design.Experience with SCD Types 1 & 2, surrogate keys, late-arriving dimensions.Understanding of Kimballs DW lifecycle and best practices.Power BI:Experience building interactive dashboards and reports.Understanding of DAX and Power BI modeling best practices.
