Role Summary We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Fundraising Director to lead and grow Makkala Jagriti’s resource mobilization efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, fundraising expertise, and a deep belief in the power of education and equity. This role is central to enabling the scaling of Makkala Jagriti’s programs and ensuring long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership ● Lead the development and execution of a multi-channel fundraising strategy aligned to the organization’s goals and growth plans. ● Set annual fundraising targets and monitor performance against them. ● Represent the organization to key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and networks. Donor Engagement & Relationship Management ● Cultivate and steward relationships with donors - CSR, foundations, individual donors, and HNIs. ● Create compelling narratives and pitch decks tailored to different donor segments. ● Lead outreach efforts to build a strong pipeline of funding prospects. Proposal & Communication Oversight ● Oversee high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, and donor reports. ● Ensure timely communication and meaningful engagement with current and prospective donors. ● Collaborate with program and M&E teams to generate donor-relevant impact stories and data. Team Management ● Build and manage a motivated fundraising team. ● Provide mentorship, clear goals, and accountability structures for the team. Systems & Operations ● Ensure effective use of CRM tools to track donor data, communication, and reporting schedules. ● Establish efficient internal processes for fundraising operations, donor servicing, and knowledge management. Who You Are ● You have 10-12 years of experience in fundraising, business development, partnerships, or related areas – ideally in the development sector or from a corporate fundraising background. ● You bring a strong understanding of the funding landscape – CSR, philanthropic foundations, individual donors, and international giving. ● You’re an excellent communicator with the ability to build trust and inspire confidence. ● You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and high ownership. ● You take initiative, embrace responsibility, and thrive in a collaborative yet dynamic environment. ● You believe deeply in the power of equity, inclusion, and holistic education. Bonus Points For ● Experience in scaling fundraising for a growing organization ● Familiarity with digital fundraising campaigns or international fundraising ● Strong networks in the CSR or philanthropic ecosystem
