Role Overview:
As the Creative Lead, you will drive the vision for our bag collection with designs that resonate with our audience while staying true to our ethos of affordable luxury. From concept to production, you will oversee the design process, ensuring every piece reflects quality, functionality, and style.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership:
Lead the end-to-end design process for handbags, laptop bags and accessories, from trend research and concept development to prototyping and final production.
Create innovative, trend-forward designs that align with the brand's aesthetic and target audience.
Trend Research & Innovation:
Stay ahead of global fashion trends, materials, and techniques to ensure our collections are fresh, relevant, and aspirational.
Incorporate insights from market research, customer feedback, and competitor analysis into design decisions.
Luxury Aesthetic with Affordability:
Balance luxury design elements with cost-effective production methods to maintain our affordable luxury positioning.
Source and recommend premium materials (leather, hardware, etc.) that meet quality standards while staying within budget.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, sourcing, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution of designs.
Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure designs are feasible and meet quality standards.
Brand Stewardship:
Uphold and evolve the brand's design language, ensuring consistency across all collections.
Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of creativity and excellence within the design team.
Qualifications:
Experience:
6+ years of experience in handbag design, preferably with a focus on luxury or affordable luxury brands.
Proven track record of designing successful handbag collections that resonate with consumers.
Skills:
Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD).
In-depth knowledge of materials, hardware, and construction techniques specific to handbags.
Exceptional sketching and prototyping skills.
Attributes:
A keen eye for detail and a passion for luxury design.
Strong understanding of global fashion trends and consumer preferences.
Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education:
Degree in Fashion Design, Accessory Design, or a related field.
