We empower organisations to evolve and lead, delivering tailored, results-driven technology solutions backed by our team of 40+ professionals.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Python/FastAPI Development Lead with strong expertise in FastAPI to join an exciting Reinforcement Learning (RL) Gym project. You will design, build, and optimise scalable APIs, collaborate with researchers and engineers, and deliver high-quality backend services to support reinforcement learning experiments and simulations. Prior RL Gym experience is not mandatory, but would be a plus.What does day-to-day life look like?Design, build, and maintain FastAPI-based services for experimentation workflows and simulation environments.Collaborate with ML engineers to expose APIs for training, evaluation, and benchmarking.Write efficient, production-grade Python code with a strong emphasis on scalability and maintainability.Troubleshoot performance issues, optimise pipelines, and ensure smooth deployment of applications.Requirements8+ years of professional experience in Python development, including 3+ years of hands-on expertise with FastAPI for building scalable, high-performance backend systems.4+ years of team leadership experience, managing and mentoring teams of 5 or more developers to deliver high-quality, maintainable code.Proven ability to review code, provide constructive feedback, and merge PRs to ensure consistency, reliability, and adherence to engineering standards.Strong track record of identifying and mitigating risks early, coupled with a deep sense of ownership and accountability across the full software development lifecycle.Expert-level knowledge of FastAPI (experience with frameworks such as Flask or Django is beneficial, but FastAPI expertise is required).Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, implementing asynchronous programming, and managing the complete API lifecycle from design to deployment.Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and scalable design patterns.Familiarity with NumPy and Pandas; exposure to PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus.Good to have: Experience with SQL and familiarity with Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments such as OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, or Stable Baselines.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Perks of Contracting with MillionLogicsWork in a fully remote environment.Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading LLM companies.Offer DetailsCommitments Required: 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week with an overlap of 4 hours with PST.Engagement Type: Contractor assignment (no medical/paid leave)Duration of Contract: 18 months (adjustable based on engagement)Evaluation ProcessTechnical Interview with live coding challenge focused on Python and FastAPI (60 mins)Number of Openings: 6Urgent requirement, please apply here on LinkedIn or email us your updated CV with Job ID: 2383 as the subject of your email at or apply at our careers section
