Financial Planning Analyst

The RoleThe Financial Analyst will be an important member of the Technology and Operations Delivery (TxOD) finance team, based in India and reporting to the Finance Manager/Senior Finance Business Partner. This role will provide analytical and operational support to the finance function, delivering accurate financial analysis, reporting, and insights that support business performance and decision-making.The Financial Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders across TxOD to gather financial data, prepare reports, and support the financial planning processes. They will be responsible for maintaining financial models, conducting variance analysis, and preparing presentations that help the leadership team understand financial performance and trends.This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to develop their career in a dynamic, global organization, with exposure to technology operations and opportunities to work on diverse financial projects.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & Analysis Support- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning and forecasting processes for TxOD- Prepare financial reports and presentations highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and variances- Maintain and update financial models and forecasts based on inputs from business stakeholders- Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify and explain differences between actual and planned performance- Assist in the preparation of budget documentation and financial projectionsBusiness Performance Reporting- Prepare regular performance reports for the TxOD leadership team and finance stakeholders- Monitor key business metrics and flag significant variances or emerging trends- Create data visualizations and dashboards to enhance financial reporting and insights- Support ad-hoc reporting requests from senior management and business partnersFinancial Analysis- Conduct financial and operational analysis to support business decision-making- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost optimization- Support the evaluation of business cases and investment proposals with financial modeling and analysis- Assist in profitability analysis across different projects, clients, and service lines- Research and analyze financial data to provide insights on business performanceCommercial Support- Assist in the financial assessment of new client opportunities and strategic initiatives- Support pricing analysis and commercial evaluations for business proposals- Help prepare business cases with financial projections and return on investment analysis- Contribute to revenue recognition activities and ensure compliance with accounting standardsProcess Support & Collaboration- Support the implementation and improvement of financial processes and controls- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across reporting systems- Collaborate with the wider FNZ Finance team on group-wide initiatives and reporting requirements- Assist in month-end and quarter-end close activities as required- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiativesThe PersonThe ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical skills and a keen interest in supporting business growth through financial insights. They will be proactive, curious, and eager to learn, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. They will also:- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field- Have 4-6 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in FP&A, business finance, or financial analysis roles- Professional qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA/CMA) completed or in progress is preferred- Possess strong financial modeling and analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency- Have experience in financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis- Demonstrate good understanding of financial statements and accounting principles- Show strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy in financial work- Have good communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly- Be comfortable working with cross-functional teams and supporting multiple stakeholders- Show ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities- Have experience with financial systems and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or similar)- Technology sector or operations finance experience is a plus but not essentialThe CompetenciesAnalytical Skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail- Ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights from complex financial informationBusiness Acumen- Understanding of business drivers and their financial impact- Interest in learning about technology operations and how finance supports business objectivesCommunication- Clear written and verbal communication skills- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders in a simple mannerCollaboration- Team player with ability to build positive working relationships- Willingness to support colleagues and contribute to team successTechnical Skills- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis- Proficiency with financial modeling and data visualization tools- Adaptability to learn new systems and technologiesProfessional Approach- Proactive and self-motivated with strong work ethic- Reliable and committed to delivering quality work on time- Continuous learning mindset with eagerness to develop new skills
