The Manager - Finance will lead the controllership function within the company’s finance department, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting, internal controls, and financial systems. In this tech-oriented investment management firm, the role will focus on managing and enhancing financial processes while working with advanced technologies and financial tools to streamline operations and improve data accuracy. This individual will also play a pivotal role in collaborating with both finance and technology teams to ensure seamless integration between financial systems and tech platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analytics: Oversee and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with both regulatory standards (e.g., Ind AS) and internal company policies. Use data-driven insights and financial analytics tools to improve financial decision-making.
- Controllership & Financial Controls: Lead the development and maintenance of a robust system of internal controls designed to ensure the integrity of financial transactions, safeguard company assets, and prevent fraud. Continuously assess the efficiency and effectiveness of financial controls using automation and technology tools.
- System Integration & Automation: Collaborate with the technology team to implement and optimize financial systems (e.g., ERP software, AI-powered financial tools). Identify opportunities for process automation and work to enhance financial system capabilities.
- Financial Close & General Ledger Management: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger oversight, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. Ensure that automated systems are functioning properly and that reports are accurate and timely.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEBI regulations) and internal company policies. Stay informed on emerging financial regulations, especially as they pertain to financial technology and data security, and advise senior leadership on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
- Budgeting, Forecasting, & Financial Planning: Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes by providing data-driven insights to senior management. Leverage advanced financial modeling tools to ensure accuracy and facilitate strategic decision-making.
- Collaboration with Tech Teams: Partner with the technology and product teams to ensure financial data is properly captured, stored, and reported within the company’s tech platforms. Ensure seamless integration between financial and operational systems to improve data flow and accuracy.
- Audit & Internal Review: Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely and successful completion of audits. Assist in preparing audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and addressing audit findings.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas of opportunity to improve financial processes, leveraging technology for better accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Lead or participate in projects related to financial system enhancements, process automation, and technology adoption.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance on technical accounting matters, process improvements, and career development.
Qualifications:
- Education: CA.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2-3 years in a finance controllership or management role within a technology-oriented or fintech environment. Experience in wealth management, asset management, or financial services is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial systems. Familiarity with financial technology tools (fintech solutions). Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, SnowFlake..
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, SEBI regulations) and experience in managing compliance for tech-driven financial companies.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive financial insights and improve decision-making.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable working in a tech-forward environment, with the ability to collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and tech teams to optimize financial systems.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with both financial and technology teams.
