The ideal candidate will excel in media relations, vendor management, and be comfortable using multimedia tools for efficient communication.
This role also involves managing and executing communication strategies, overseeing institute-wide events, and producing high-quality content for various platforms.
Media Relations Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets.
Draft press releases, media pitches and responses to media queries in collaboration with partner agencies.
Monitor media coverage, ensure timely dissemination to internal stakeholders, produce timely reports to evaluate effectiveness, and competitor analysis.
Content Creation Develop and manage content, including creatives, for various channels, including SPJIMR’s newsletters, social media, videos and podcasts, website and marketing materials.
Collaborate with faculty, staff and students to produce compelling copy and creatives, thought leadership pieces, articles, etc for various channels.
Internal Communications Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure alignment and engagement among faculty, staff and students.
Manage the production of internal newsletters, announcements and updates with internal stakeholders and partner agencies.
Brand Management Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with SPJIMR’s objectives to enhance brand and engage stakeholders effectively.
Ensure all communications are consistent and aligned with brand voice and guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including faculty and staff, students, alumni, donors, corporate partners, and the broader SPJIMR community.
Event Coordination Plan and execute events such as press conferences, media roundtables, speaker series, and other institute-wide events as required, ensuring seamless coordination, successful outcomes and a memorable experience for attendees.
Vendor Management Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and maintain strong partnerships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services.
Ensure invoices and purchase requisitions are shared in a timely manner, and coordinate with internal departments as required to process payments.
Analytics and Reporting Monitor analytics and generate reports to assess campaign effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably within higher education or a related field.
Candidates with experience working on the agency side in education, corporate/management preferred.
