Job Responsibilities: System Design: Design and develop solar PV systems (rooftop and ground-mounted) including layout, structure, and electrical design. Conduct site assessments, shading analysis, and load calculations to optimize solar system performance. Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), layouts, and detailed project designs using AutoCAD or similar tools. Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, and other equipment based on technical and financial analysis. Technical Analysis: Perform energy yield assessments using simulation software like PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools. Calculate energy production and financial returns based on local climate, system size, and configuration. Analyze the system’s efficiency and provide solutions to improve the overall design and performance. Compliance & Regulations: Ensure designs comply with local and national standards (like IEC, NEC, and others), safety codes, and grid-connection requirements. Work with governmental agencies to secure permits and approvals for solar energy projects. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed design documentation, bill of materials (BOM), and project reports. Create technical documentation to support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar systems. Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and other teams to ensure designs are implemented correctly. Provide technical support during project execution and handle on-site modifications if needed. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest developments in solar technologies, tools, and industry best practices. Explore innovative solutions to enhance system design and performance. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and other design and simulation software. Knowledge of electrical systems and solar energy technologies. Understanding of grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid solar PV systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Experience: 2+ years of experience in solar PV system design. Experience in both residential and commercial solar projects. Familiarity with national and international solar energy standards and regulations.
