Hi all, we are looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to meet the following requirements.


Job Role: Embedded Firmware Engineer

Location: ET System India, Bangalore

Experience: 4+ years

Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 4 years or more of job-related experience leading the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of real-time, bare-metal firmware and embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with MCU firmware development from one or more devices from STM, TI, Microchip, etc. Selecting MCUs and supporting hardware, given a set of product requirements.
  • Experience with protocols such as RS232, RS485, Modbus, SPI, UART, I2C, USB, CAN, Ethernet, and experience in low level drivers.
  • Experience in TFT LCD interface.
  • Working knowledge of firmware debugger tools, emulators, bug tracking, defect tracking, and software configuration management tools.
  • Excellent understanding of embedded firmware development tools, processes, and technologies. Having knowledge of STM32 and PIC microcontroller-related development tools will be added advantage.
  • Proficient in developing firmware with C or assembly language or with more compiled languages, and development experience in embedded software, RTOS.
  • Experience in writing firmware technical specifications and can generate and maintain firmware documentation such as block diagrams, state machines, message sequences, and flow chart diagrams are required. Updating product manual, and datasheet for implemented features in the project.
  • Experience in full product life cycle management, and strong analytical skills.
  • Initial bring up of hardware, IDE, and tool chain evaluation, and experience developing firmware initially using chipset vendor evaluation kits and porting firmware to the final target hardware and debugging and troubleshooting on target hardware.
  • Ability to read schematics and component data sheets, a basic understanding of digital circuits, and interaction between firmware and electronics. Experience in the power domain will be added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware defects as found during bench, lab, and production QA testing.


Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Power Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunications/Computer science or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • 4+ years of job-related experience in firmware design and development for embedded processors and microcontrollers design, embedded firmware for analog and digital electronics design, working on a broad range of common electronic components and integrated circuits, new product developments experience in the commercial and consumer electronics industry.
