Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC), based in Hyderabad, is a subsidiary of Medtronic PLC, one of the leading medical technology companies operationally headquartered in the United States. MEIC is engaged in conducting R&D activities in field of medical device technology and is in the process of expanding its R&D operations in the State of Telangana. The strategic goal of MEIC is to develop a State-of-the-Art R&D Center for medical device software and engineering solutions for the entire Medtronic group while operating out of Hyderabad.This position will enable growth of MEIC by taking accountability for the statutory financials, while ensuring a robust internal control mechanism and compliance to applicable statutory requirements.A Day in the Life- End to End ownership of controllership responsibilities, that will include:- India GAAP accounting- Reporting- External & Internal Audits- Statutory and Tax compliances.- SEZ Compliances- Treasury- Internal Controls- Reporting key controllership related metrics- Identify process improvements and simplification opportunities. Drive the execution of those projects and work with others to ensure completion.- Accountability of technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards- Responsible to manage external relationships with:- Bankers- Statutory Auditors- Tax ConsultantsThe role requires expertise in managing through impact and influence; requires comfort in operating in a matrix organization with several stakeholders.The role is of a people manager, with the demonstrated ability of completing critical deliverables independently, if the need arises.Close collaboration with HR, legal, tax and trade, real estate and facilities, procurement, finance shared services and other functionsKEY BEHAVIORAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED- Ability to articulate his/her thoughts coherently.- Strong analytical skills & logical skills- Ability to manage several projects or tasks and conclude timely- Open mind with ability and willingness to learn- Must be a Team player, must have cross cultural sensitivity and be able to work in a diverse team. The ideal candidate must also possess strong cross functional collaboration capabilities.- Ability to work with Sr. Leadership team on the financial decisions- People management, which includes accountability for mentoring, developing and coaching staff on meeting/exceeding performance expectations and defined objectives.Must Have: Minimum Requirements- CA with 10-12 years of finance and accounting experience with progressive responsibility, especially with exposure to international operations and R&D preferably- Strong Direct Tax,
