Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage database administration activities across Oracle and SQL Server environments.
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle and SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for efficiency.
Implement and manage backup & recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Guard (Oracle), Always On (SQL Server), etc.
Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with industry standards.
Work closely with development teams to optimize database structures and queries.
Automate routine database tasks using scripting (Shell, Power Shell, or Python).
Manage and configure replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
Perform database migrations, patching, and upgrades with minimal downtime.
Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in database administration (DBA) with a focus on Oracle and SQL Server.
Expertise in Oracle 12c/19c and SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
Strong knowledge of backup & recovery techniques, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR).
Experience with Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
Proficiency in PL/SQL, T-SQL , and scripting languages like Shell, Power Shell, or Python.
Familiarity with cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or Oracle Cloud) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
Experience with database security and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.).
Hands-on experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) for database infrastructure.
