Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Java API Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our growing technology team. This role offers the opportunity to design and develop scalable APIs while leveraging GCP's state-of-the-art services to deliver innovative solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • API Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Cloud Integration: Implement and manage APIs within GCP infrastructure, leveraging services like Cloud Functions, API Gateway, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Run.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, front-end developers, and product managers, to deliver seamless API solutions.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize API performance by implementing best practices for caching, logging, and monitoring.
  • Security: Ensure API security by integrating OAuth, API keys, and other authentication mechanisms.
  • Testing: Write unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure API quality and robustness.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs and related systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot issues, debug code, and resolve production incidents effectively.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in Java development.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher) . Core Spring / Spring Boot experience is a must have .
  • Knowledge of JPA/Hibernate
  • Strong experience with API design and development, including REST and JSON.
  • Expertise in GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
  • Integration Technologies : REST/MQ/XML/SOAP/JSON
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (Jenkins, SonarQube, Git, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker for containerization.
  • Experience with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Nifi/Kafka experience added advantage
  • Experience in development of micro-services oriented applications.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
