Performance Data Engineer

You will contribute to exiting innovative business projects where value is realized using data. An increasing community of data professionals is working on those projects and the Data Engineer will be part of that community. As Data Engineer you will have a level of autonomy in organizing your own work and as you will be working with different technologies, we provide opportunities to deepen and expand your knowledge by training, coaching and the variety of subjects to work on. In your role as functional engineer data engineering, you will support multiple business initiatives around data. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the large amount of required data pipelines that support those experimental and explorative initiatives and advice on best practices and future data strategies. You will set up a monitoring model to guarantee agreed levels of data quality and track the metrics associated with. You will keep track of the latest developments related to data and you will advise senior management on steps to take to enhance the value of data in our organization. You will have an active role in further defining of our new cloud-based data platform. This is done through projects, changes and increasingly more through Agile DevOps teams. This requires high quality Stories (change specifications) and projects changes which will allow Engineers and/or Developers to translate into code/configuration. The Functional Engineer sees to properly coordinate, review, approve and execute stories/project changes and has an active role monitoring status, in (unit)testing and change management once developed, including organizing sign-off after testing. On request, a Functional Engineer can be asked to be involved in solving urgent high priority incidents and plays a role in process improvements alongside with business. Depending on the domain and the progress of IT Fusion in our organization, the work is either done being part of the responsibilities in the line management organization, or in agile teams under the leadership of a Scrum Master, or in the case of a waterfall under the leadership of the Project Manager. Depending on the seniority of the Engineer, he/she will also assume these project management activities as a role or will take the lead in delivery of end-to-end changes. It is the intention that more and more work get done as part of the standing organization and no longer create a project for every single change that needs to be done.
