Job description Job Title: Data Engineer Location: Remote / Bangalore Job Type: Full-Time Experience: 4–5 years Start Date: Immediate Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong Python experience and deep expertise in PySpark and dbt Labs (dbt Core / dbt Cloud). These two skills are the primary focus of the role. You will design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, transform data using dbt, and process large datasets using PySpark across cloud platforms. Your work will directly enable reliable, scalable, and analytics-ready data systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and dbt Build, test, document, and optimize dbt models for analytics and BI use cases Develop distributed data processing jobs using PySpark for large-scale datasets Work with cloud-based tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or equivalent AWS/GCP services. Implement robust data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes Create optimized data models and transformation layers following best practices Automate workflows, monitoring, and pipeline orchestration Collaborate with cross-functional teams—data engineers, analysts, and data scientists Maintain detailed documentation of data pipelines, workflows, and dependencies Required Qualifications 4–5 years of strong Python experience (must-have) Hands-on experience with PySpark (must-have) for distributed data processing Practical experience with dbt Labs (dbt Core or dbt Cloud) (must-have) Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT processes Experience with cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and transformation techniques Exposure to big data tools like Spark, Airflow or similar Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills Effective communication and collaboration abilities Preferred Skills Experience with Git or similar version control tools Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based deployments Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows Knowledge of Kafka or other streaming tools What We Offer Opportunity to work on innovative, real-world data engineering projects A collaborative, learning-oriented team culture Professional growth and development support Flexible working hours and remote work options How to Apply Please send your resume and cover letter highlighting your Python, PySpark, and dbt labs experience to
