Job Purpose

Carry out Quality Assurance review of audit engagements on an ongoing basis, Internal Audit activity’s overall Quality Assessment and Improvement Program (QAIP) annually in accordance with The IIA’s Standards. Lead and coordinate with Audit Division for external quality assessment at a minimum once in 5 years, suggest improvements in audit methodology and working paper documentation in conformance to standards as per IIA, generation of periodic MIS such as Balance Score Cards, Status of Audit Action items. Assist Head of Audit Excellence in preparation of quarterly presentations for Board Audit Committee, annual IA Group Plan and MBO Review with CEO.

Key result Areas

Audit Quality Assurance:

  • Carry out quality assessment review of a sample of UAE Audits, all Country Audits, and Audits of overseas resident internal auditors in a calendar year.
  • Carry out Internal Audit activity’s overall QAIP annually in accordance with the IIA’s Standards and the related Practice Advisories.
  • Lead and coordinate with Audit Division for external quality assessment at a minimum once in 5 years by independent validator such as IIA.
  • Provide support on Audit system to Audit Division by coordinating with Technology and vendor in software problem escalation and resolution, upgradation of database and Issue Tracker as and when new versions are released by vendor.
  • Manage generation of Balanced Score Cards (KPIs) for Audit Division and Audit Excellence every month for IAG’s senior management.
  • Manage generation and distribution of Action Plan Status reports as of every month end for Audit Division management review and follow-up.
  • As custodian of Audit Plan, make amendments to the audit plan as and when advised by Audit and circulate the revised plan within Audit Division.
  • As custodian of GRAM, consolidate and maintain annual GRAM Score sheets as advised by Audit.
  • Prepare the quarterly Board Audit Committee meeting presentation with inputs from Audit Division.
  • Prepare quarterly IAG MBO Review presentation with inputs from Audit.
  • Assist Head of Audit Excellence in the preparation and consolidation of Annual IAG Plan with inputs from Audit.
  • Revise, update and maintain the Audit Manual with inputs from Audit Division.
  • Update, manage and maintain IAG Intranet pages on Mashreq Intranet.
  • Update and maintain IAG Business Continuity Plan with inputs from IAG Divisions.
  • Provide support in release of audit reports to LFs.
  • Provide support in IVOC Survey administration.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • CA /CPA/ ACCA/MBA in Finance & Accounting preferably with CIA / Banking Diploma.
  • 7 – 10 years’ experience in audit department of a bank / audit firm.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts.
  • Advanced Computer Literacy: Proficient in using various software applications and tools relevant to the role.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI).
