Company Overview:

Emarat Maritime LLC (EML) is a Dubai-based company with subsidiaries across India and Dubai Freezone. EML is a leading ship owning and management company, with a growing fleet of vessels operated through its Single Purpose Companies (SPCs) established in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). Its subsidiaries in India, Emarat Maritime (India) Private Limited (EMIPL) and Emarat Shipping Management (India) Private Limited (ESMIPL), support ship management and crew manning operations for the group.


Position Summary:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the financial accounting, regulatory compliance, and secretarial requirements of the Indian entities, ensuring alignment with group objectives and local statutory obligations. This role will oversee a team of three Accounts Executives and provide leadership in financial management, reporting, and strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Accounting & Reporting:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards, taxation, and audit requirements.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and provide financial analysis for business decisions.
  • Provide IFRS-compliant financial statements to the parent company’s auditors to facilitate the consolidation of accounts.



Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements, including Income Tax, GST, TDS, Companies Act, FEMA, Transfer Pricing and other local regulations.
  • Manage statutory audits, tax audits, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing, and timely submission of statutory reports and returns.




Secretarial Compliance:

  • Act as the key point of contact for all company secretarial matters related to EMIPL and ESMIPL.
  • Handle corporate governance, including board meetings, filing of returns, and maintaining statutory registers.
  • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and coordinate with legal advisors on secretarial matters.



Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a team of around three Accounts Executives.
  • Allocate responsibilities and ensure deadlines are met for financial closing, audits, and filings.
  • Foster professional development and provide training as needed for the team.



Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Assist the GM of EML and India in long-term financial planning and strategy.
  • Contribute to financial due diligence, risk management, and cost optimization for operational efficiency.
  • Support the management in decision-making by providing financial insights and reports.



Collaboration with Global Entities:

  • Collaborate with the parent company in Dubai and ensure alignment in financial practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with EML and Emarat Maritime FZE on cross-border financial transactions.



Qualifications & Experience:


  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Company Secretary (ACS).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial position, preferably in the Shipping Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Possess strong expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in coordinating with auditors, legal advisors, and regulatory bodies.
