Position: Manager – GST

Qualification

  • CA Final:2019-20 batch with proven experience (typically 5-7 years) in Direct and Indirect Taxes
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax compliance, reporting, and planning within a corporate finance or accounting environment . Experience in both direct and indirect taxes (e.g., VAT/GST, corporate tax) is highly preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing based organization

Team Size: Individual Contributor Role

Reporting to: Senior Manager- Taxes


Key Responsibilities:


1. Tax Compliance and Reporting:

  • Prepare and file direct and indirect tax returns (e.g., corporate income tax, GST, withholding tax) in compliance with local, state, and international tax regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of income tax returns, GST returns for the organization, maintaining records of tax filings and payments.
  • Knowledge of GST portal, E-way Bill, E-invoice working and reconciliation.
  • Filing of GST refunds under inverted duty structure, exports, deemed export etc.
  • Prepare and maintain tax documentation , including tax schedules, and tax working papers.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual tax provisions, advance tax for financial reporting and ensure that they are aligned with the company’s tax strategy.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and government authorities on assessments, appeals etc. to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on global tax trends , changes in tax law, and emerging risks, particularly in relation to the company’s industry or geographic operations.

2. GST and Indirect Tax Management:

  • Oversee and manage the GST compliance for domestic and international transactions, ensuring the timely submission of returns and proper documentation.
  • Filing GST returns GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 & 9C
  • Filing GST refunds online
  • Handling GST reconciliation with books
  • Replying to show cause notices, handling GST audits , appeals etc.
  • Handling E-way bills, E-invoices under different situation.
  • Knowledge of Advance license, EPCG etc.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax files and records , supporting the integrity of financial statements and audit processes

3. Corporate Tax/Direct Tax

  • Support the tax audit process by gathering relevant documentation, responding to inquiries, and managing communications with tax authorities.
  • Assist in resolving any tax disputes or challenges, ensuring the company’s position is well-supported with proper documentation and legal backing.
  • Filing Income tax returns, handling advance tax calculation, income tax provisions etc.
  • Handling Withholding tax transactions, assisting team in TDS returns and reconciliation .
  • Filing of form 15CA, 15CB
  • Co-ordination with consultants in handling assessments, appeals.
  • Knowledge of income tax provisions.
  • Provide tax advisory on transactions and business decisions, offering advice on tax-efficient structures and opportunities for tax reduction
  • Monitor tax audit risks and help manage the resolution of any issues that arise, liaising with both internal teams and external tax consultants as necessary.

4. Internal Process Improvement and Documentation:

  • Review and improve tax-related processes , ensuring internal controls are effective and meet corporate governance standards.
  • Prepare and maintain tax-related documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring the company meets its tax filing and payment obligations.

5. Support to Finance & Accounting Teams:

  • Assist in cash flow management by forecasting tax payments and managing tax liabilities.
  • Provide tax-related support for M&A activities (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures) and other corporate restructuring projects.

Stay updated on global tax trends , changes in tax law, and emerging risks, particularly in relation to the company’s industry or geographic operations.
