As an SDE at GradRight, you’ll bring an unmatched customer-centricity to your work, with a focus on building for the long term and large scale.You’ll contribute to frameworks that enable flexible/scalable customer journeys and tie them with institutional knowledge to help us build the best experiences for students and our partners.Responsibilities:Lead design discussions and decisions around building scalable and modular architectureBuild clean, modular and scalable backend servicesParticipate in sprint ceremonies and actively contribute to scaling the engineering organization from a process perspectiveStay on top of the software engineering ecosystem and propose new technologies/methodologies that can be adoptedContribute to engineering hiring by conducting interviewsChampion infrastructure as code mindset and encourage automationManage and mentor a small team junior engineersRequirements:At least 6 years experience as an SDE, building large scale servicesAt least 2 years experience leading teamsExtensive experience in at least one programming language and ability to write maintainable, scalable and unit-testable codeStrong understanding of software design principles and patternsExcellent command over data structures and algorithmsPassion for solving complex problemsGood understanding of various database technologies with strong opinions around their use casesExperience with performance monitoring and scaling backend servicesExperience with microservices and distributed systems in generalExperience with team managementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood to have:Experience working with node.js, MongoDB and Google CloudExperience in CI/CD and cloud infrastructure managementWorked on products that addressed an international audienceWorked on products that scaled to millions of usersAdditional resources:Our team - testimonials - on social media - LinkedIn, Instagram
