We’re now looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to architect, own, and evolve the backend systems that power real-time, AI-driven hiring experiences. Experience us here What You’ll Do Own and evolve the architecture of JobTwine’s backend platform, built on Java and Spring Boot Drive system design for scalable, secure, and low-latency AI-integrated services Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers to integrate LLMs, TTS/STT, RAG patterns, and inference layers into the backend Lead development of RESTful APIs , microservices, data pipelines, and backend orchestration Scale real-time infrastructure for AI avatar interviews, voice communication, and analytics Champion best practices in code quality, performance optimization, CI/CD , and cloud reliability Mentor junior engineers and take full ownership of backend delivery pipelines Required Skills and Experience 4-6 years of backend development experience in high growth startups especially in B2B space and AI first environments with Java (17+) and Spring Boot Deep expertise in system design , microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems Strong experience in cloud infrastructure – AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP also welcome Experience working with AI teams or AI/ML product integrations Familiarity with integrating TTS/STT APIs , LLM endpoints, or asynchronous inference layers Proficient in working with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis , and message queues like AWS SQS/SNS, Kafka or RabbitMQ Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance tuning Startup or high-growth environment experience is a big plus Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Nice to Have Exposure to MLOps or deploying machine learning models in production environments Experience with containerization and orchestration ( Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes ) Familiarity with RAG pipelines , vector DBs, LangChain, or other AI frameworks Experience with real-time streaming, WebSockets, or voice protocol integrations What We Offer A chance to build critical backend infrastructure for a fast-growing AI product Work alongside AI researchers, product visionaries, and experienced founders A fast-paced, no-hierarchy culture focused on impact, not process Competitive salary + early equity in a breakout AI startup What Makes You a Great Fit You love startup speed, chaos, and zero-handholding environments You focus on solutions, not excuses You’re unafraid of tough problems and tight deadlines Why Join Us Build systems that power AI avatars and voice agents changing hiring forever Work with a high-impact, founder-led team with a deep vision Ship features that get used immediately by real customers Full flexibility with remote work and a culture of speed and excellence Highly Competitive compensation Our Core Values Insane Focus on Excellence Absolute Ownership Unquestionable Teamwork Impeccable Quality
