Job Description: We’re looking for an Offshore State Income Tax Preparer who could deliver high-quality state income tax preparation services.
In this role, you will manage interactions with CPAs, gather required documentation, prepare state income tax returns, and ensure tax submissions are accurate and on time.
Ideal candidates have a strong knowledge of state tax laws, rules, and filing requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare State Tax Returns: Accurately complete state income tax returns using CCH and CCH workpapers, ensuring full compliance with state tax laws and regulations.
You’ll need to be capable of identifying and addressing complex tax issues, including deductions, credits, and exemptions.
Stay Updated on Tax Laws: Keep informed about state tax laws and regulations, including any changes, nexus filing requirements, and income apportionment factors.
Quality Control: Review all completed tax returns for accuracy and consistency before sharing them with the CPA.
Communication: Regularly communicate with CPAs to provide task updates, address inquiries, and resolve concerns.
Confidentiality and Professionalism: Uphold a high level of professionalism, protect client data, and follow strict confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications: Experience: 2-3 years in tax return preparation, ideally with a focus on state income taxes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation software, such as CCH (including CCH workpaper), Lacerte, or Tax Wise, and Microsoft Office.
Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of state tax regulations, filing requirements, deductions, credits, and exemptions.
Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
