Roles and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and architecture of Android native applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and other engineers to understand requirements, provide technical feedback, and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Kotlin/Java, following Android best practices.
  • Integrate with backend services (RESTful APIs, WebSocket, etc.) and third-party libraries.
  • Implement and maintain robust automated testing strategies, including unit tests and integration tests.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies, and continuously improve the development process.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Participate in project planning, estimation, and execution, ensuring timely delivery of features and bug fixes.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in native Android development, with a strong focus on Kotlin (Java experience is a plus) with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality Android applications, including those available in the Google Play Store.
  • Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and development tools.
  • Experience with architectural patterns like MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and cloud message APIs (e.g., Firebase).
  • Knowledge of mobile UI/UX standards, trends, and best practices.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Solid understanding of automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
