Role Overview
We are seeking a DevOps & Network Security Engineer to enhance our infrastructure and ensure the security and reliability of our systems. This role combines the expertise of a DevOps engineer, responsible for automation and infrastructure management, with the skills of a Network Security engineer to ensure our systems are robust, secure, and optimized. You will be involved in developing, deploying, and maintaining highly available applications while securing our networks against potential threats.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility Description
Infrastructure Management Design, implement, and manage scalable and resilient infrastructure using cloud platforms and DevOps tools.
Automation and CI/CD Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient deployment of applications, minimizing manual processes and enhancing deployment frequency.
System Monitoring and Troubleshooting Set up monitoring systems to proactively detect performance issues and troubleshoot system incidents using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Network Security Management Develop and enforce network security policies, including firewall management, access controls, and VPN configurations to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Vulnerability Assessment Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and audits to identify and address security risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Incident Response and Threat Mitigation Respond to security incidents, analyze threats, and deploy countermeasures to safeguard systems and data; maintain an incident response plan.
Compliance and Documentation Ensure compliance with industry security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR) and maintain detailed documentation of security practices, infrastructure designs, and standard operating procedures.
Collaboration and Communication Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and IT staff to align infrastructure and security practices with development goals and timelines.
Training and Development Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions on best practices for DevOps and network security principles to foster a culture of security awareness within the organization.

Skill Description
DevOps Tools & Automation Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI; strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automating tasks.
Cloud Platforms Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure management and security best practices.
Network Security Principles In-depth knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN management, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
Containerization & Orchestration Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration for scalable and efficient deployments, including service meshes and monitoring.
Monitoring and Logging Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK stack for proactive system monitoring and logging best practices.
Database Security Understanding of secure database management practices for systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, including encryption and access control.
Configuration Management Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for consistent configuration across multiple environments.
Version Control and Collaboration Strong knowledge of Git for version control, ensuring efficient collaboration within DevOps workflows and continuous integration practices.

Load Balancing & Traffic Management Experience with load balancers (e.g., NGINX, HAProxy), proxies, and traffic management tools for optimized network performance and reliability.
Automated Security Testing Knowledge of automated security testing tools (e.g., Nessus, OWASP ZAP) integrated into CI/CD pipelines to enhance security posture.
Container Security Understanding of container security best practices, including image scanning, runtime security, and Kubernetes security controls.
Educational Requirements
● Bachelor's Degree: In Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
● Certifications: Relevant certifications such as:
○ AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
○ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
○ CompTIA Security+
○ Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
○ Other relevant certifications in cloud or security domains.
Experience Requirements
● Professional Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in DevOps and Network Security roles.
● Project Experience: Proven track record of managing large-scale cloud infrastructures and implementing security best practices.
● Team Collaboration: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, contributing to cross-functional teams.
