SQL Server/Azure Database Administrator- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation, upgradation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances
Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user would need
Setup High-Availability as part of Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases
Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix the issues
Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning to include index optimizations
Failover clustering, Always-on, and other high availability technologies
Database growth vs disk space available, audits, resource monitoring (I/O bottlenecks, memory pressure, CPU use)
Manage Maintenance Plans & Design database backup and restore strategy
Monitor backups to ensure they are being performed regularly
From time to time recover the databases to a specific point of time, as per the requests
Secures database by developing policies, procedures, and controls
Expertise in database administration and maintenance, monitoring performance of databases and ensure it is operating at optimum level
Azure SQL database concept of Iaa S and Paa S
Monitoring Azure backups and maintenance plans
Access management on the Azure Paa S environments
Understanding of ticketing (SNOW) and Monitoring tool (SQL Monitor)
DB migration & upgrade from on-prem to Azure.
Qualifications
TECHNICAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
Microsoft Azure DB (Iaa S & Paa S) experience
SSIS / SSAS / SSRS experience
Data Warehousing experience
Experience in writing/editing TSQL query tuning on high transaction systems.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field; or equivalent work experience.
MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
Certifications on Azure (AZ-300 & AZ-104)
