Zeno is seeking a BMS Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and validate the Battery Management System hardware for our next-generation electric motorcycles. Bengaluru – Work from Office (5 days a week) Start Date: Immediate An unprecedented energy transition has begun. To meet 2040 net zero goals, over 2 billion electric two-wheelers (motorcycles) must be sold and $11 trillion in fuel consumption replaced. Zeno is building a tech platform to electrify this two-wheeler market, currently responsible for more than 4% of the world's GHG emissions. Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition and democratize the benefits across Africa, India, and Latin America. With a focus on East Africa as a starting point, Zeno is building a new energy ecosystem with ground-up development of a fundamentally better electric motorcycle and associated battery swap network to drive a better experience for our customers. Zeno is seeking a BMS Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and validate the Battery Management System hardware for our next-generation electric motorcycles. This role requires strong expertise in power electronics, analog and digital circuit design, and safety-critical automotive hardware development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Zeno's battery systems are safe, reliable, and optimized for performance and cost. Own the end-to-end design and development of BMS hardware including schematics, PCB design, and component selection. Design analog and digital circuits for cell monitoring, balancing, current/voltage sensing, and thermal management. Ensure compliance with automotive safety and reliability standards (ISO 26262, AIS156, AIS004, AIS038). Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners for component selection, PCB fabrication, and assembly validation. Draft test plans and work closely with firmware engineers to validate hardware–software integration. Prepare and manage BOMs, ensuring cost optimization without compromising safety and quality. 5–8 years of experience in hardware design, with at least 3 years in battery management systems or EV power electronics. ~ Hands-on experience with high-voltage hardware design, isolation principles, and safety-critical circuits. ~ Proficiency in schematic and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or equivalent. ~ Experience with compliance testing for automotive and EV standards (AIS156, AIS004, ISO 26262). ~ Competitive salary aligned with experience.
