Job summary -
Release Engineer – Mid Level –
The engineer works with developers, architects, and DevOps to assist with the deployment of code and creation of releases.
The engineer will also work with various contacts to validate environment stability and to troubleshoot any issues.
1. Merge code base from feature branch to Develop for all repos (DNAV & Delphi) – in our new feature flag approach also we maintain two different branches (For Dev 1 and every other environment 1)
2. Identify pipeline which had latest changes and make sure we deploy this pipeline to all environments
3. Work with various contacts (Developers, Architects, and DevOps) to merge code and create releases
4. Assist with Azure hosted environment validation
5. Troubleshoot various blocking issues
6. Work in the Release Management team to ensure standards are followed
7. On every environment when the entire systems is down verifying the logs and identify which team changes make this break and escalate to respective team
Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.
Decisions have a small impact on a group. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a function or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.
Minimum Required Skills: Please list out the required skills needed for this job
1. Basic knowledge on C# and SQL
2. Knowledge of SDLC Practices including SCRUM and Agile
3. General knowledge of Software Development and Databases
4. Experience with Azure Devops or similar team development tool
5. Ability to troubleshoot software applications
6. Experience with cloud hosting / development
