Job Description
Dynatrace is a comprehensive application performance management (APM) tool. Below is a list of the necessary skillset to work effectively on Dynatrace:
1. **Understanding of APM Concepts**:
- Knowledge of what APM is and its importance in monitoring and optimizing application performance.
- Familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics such as response time, throughput, and error rates.
2. **Technical Knowledge**:
- Understanding of the languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, .NET, PHP, Node.js).
- Understanding of web technologies and protocols (HTTP/S, WebSockets).
3. **Dynatrace Specific Skills**:
- **Installation and Configuration**: Knowledge of how to install Dynatrace agents on various platforms (servers, cloud environments).
- **Dashboards and Reporting**: Ability to create and customize dashboards, and generate reports.
- **Alerting and Incident Management**: Setting up alerts and configuring incident management workflows.
- **Custom Metrics and Tagging**: Defining and using custom metrics and tagging to monitor specific components or transactions.
4. **Infrastructure Knowledge**:
- Familiarity with server, network, and database performance.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
5. **Scripting and Automation**:(Optional but beneficial)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/PowerShell/Bash) to automate tasks and integrations.
6. **Other skills**
- Understanding of security best practices to ensure that performance monitoring does not expose vulnerabilities.
