Reporting to – CEO/ MD
Job Description: Head (Human Resources and Administration) role encompasses all aspects of HR, including recruitment, payroll, compensation, benefits management, Learning and Development, performance evaluation, ESOP etc.. Job Responsibilities include administrative areas such as office management, facilities management, labour and staff quarters.
H R functions in brief:
- Recommend and implement approved HR strategies, plans, budgets to support attainment of corporate goals with management of budgets and Human capital.
- Drive adoption of sound and industry best HR practices; develop and implement supporting HR policies and eco systems.
- Facilitate culture definition, articulation and communication; deploy policies to ensure the vision and mission is imbibed and entrenched within the company.
- Lead, design and implement the frameworks and programs for talent acquisition and management, organizational development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, learning and development, performance management etc. towards optimizing performance and strengthening employee value proposition.
- Provide professional advice and insights to Top Management on people management practices and industry developments including regulatory and statutory compliance.
- Track and monitor HR performance in line with the defined goals and metrics; deploy appropriate interventions wherever necessary.
- Collaborate across functions for effective business partnering
- Support staff recruitment, developing job descriptions and specifications, preparing job adverts, scrutiny of application forms, shortlisting, interviewing, selecting and induction.
- Develop and implement policies on issues like improvements in the working conditions, performance management and attrition management
- Interpreting and advising on employment laws
- Dealing with grievances
- Assess training needs in conjunction with departmental managers, plan and deliver training
Admin functions in brief:
- Manage vendors and service providers; undertake negotiations and contract management to ensure delivery in line with agreement.
- Working closely with various departments, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.
- Liaising with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
General Duties: The Head of HR is tasked with the management of the day-to-day operation of employee-relation functions. He will prepare all employee documentation including offer of employment, employment contracts, employee settlement documentation etc.
Recruitment and Selection: Head plays a major role in selection and recruitment where he carries out preparation of recruitment documents and materials, organization of the recruitment timetable, drafting and placing recruitment campaigns, sitting on interview panels, and administering tests. He ensures that the recruitment team complies with safe recruitment practices and compliance inclusive of background checks.
On-boarding and Induction: Head administers the process through which new employees are taken aboard as well as carrying out the pre-employment checks. He conducts induction meetings with new employees and liaises with departmental heads and managers in ensuring the new employee is fully aware of the roles and responsibilities. He also oversees and records the business’s quarterly/annual appraisal cycle and training needs.
Analytics: Head plays an analytical role ensuring that the human resources database consistently and accurately reflects the current staff details and conditions. This is inclusive of inputting starters and leavers, changing of details, contractual amendments, annual leave, and the recording of sick and other leaves.
Industrial relations: Responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with the Labour Department, EPF Organisation, ESI Corporation, Local bodies and other Law Enforcing Authorities.
Licensing & Certification: Ensuring the factory licenses, local body approvals and statutory renewals, legal metrology are taken care as per the required Calander
Public relations with local authorities, service providers etc.
Our expectation:
The candidate has to demonstrate an experience and knowledge of HR best practices. The candidate shall have experience in business process optimization with significant exposure in review processes that lead to the identification of redundancies or inefficiencies. The Successful candidate will ensure the implementation of approved sound and best-fit HR practices, lead efficient delivery of HR services, and drive employee engagement with impact on organizational performance. The candidate must have experience across HR disciplines including organizational development, talent management, recruitment, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee relations, and development and implementation of HR policies.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Full-Time PG in Human Resource Management from a reputed institution. Master's degree is preferred. Certification and knowledge of laws and regulations related to factory and office establishment, pan India
Experience: At least 15- 20 years of work experience with leading manufacturing organizations preferably in food processing industry. Specifically experience in Spice processing is desirable. Minimum 5 years of experience in the Middle/ Senior Management grade as AGM/ DGM is required. Experienced in managing a workforce of around 350 employees including plant & corporate office with thorough understanding of HR processes, labour laws and grievance handling. Experience across HR disciplines including organizational development, talent management, recruitment, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee relations, and development and implementation of HR policies. Managing the regulatory and statutory requirements of administering EPF, ESI, Professional tax etc.
Language skills- should know Tamil/ Hindi/ English

Leadership/ People Skills: The candidate must also demonstrate strong leadership skills, being able to inspire and motivate a cross-functional team leading it in a unified direction and with a unified vision. The candidate must also be able to influence top departmental leadership and management.
Analytical Skills: The candidate must be passionate about conducting research and deriving insights from raw data and information, identifying lasting potential solutions for HR procedures and policies.
Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be highly organized, have an ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet the deadlines, have excellent negotiation skills, be self-motivated to work under minimal supervision, and be service-oriented. He must have a high degree of honesty and integrity, be proactive, have a high level of accuracy, have strong attention to detail, and demonstrate calmness and composure under pressure and in times of uncertainty.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are a necessity for this position. Communication skills are also necessary in the creation of reports for senior management as well as key stakeholders that rely on this information. The reports have to be clear, unambiguous, and convincing in order to influence critical decision making and strategy formation.
MS Office: The candidate must have great computer skills and demonstrate high proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and Power Point, all necessary for the creation of visually and verbally engaging training materials and reports for junior resources management, top resources management, key stakeholders and collaborating personnel.
Salary being offered: CTC of INR 24 to 30 lacs per annum depending upon the profile with fixed and variable components. However, Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate.
