Position Title: Drools Developer + Kogito
Locations: Pune
Job Description:
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Drools Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rule-based engines, specifically Drools, and will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing business rules to support various applications. You will collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure that rules are effectively aligned with business goals and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain business rules using Drools rule engine.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Drools rule definitions.
- Optimize rule execution for performance and scalability.
- Integrate Drools with Java applications and other enterprise systems.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to business rules and logic.
- Conduct performance tuning of rules engine and manage rule versioning.
- Write comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications and user guides.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum development environment and participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Perform unit testing and integration testing of Drools rules.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on Drools best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Drools rule engine and BRMS (Business Rules Management System).
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with Drools Workbench or Red Hat Decision Manager.
- Experience in integrating Drools with enterprise applications using REST APIs or SOAP.
- Proficiency in writing and managing DRL (Drools Rule Language) files.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex issues in rule execution.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other rule engines like IBM ODM or Blaze Advisor.
- Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools.
- Strong understanding of domain-driven design principles.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to learning and adopting new technologies.
