OVERVIEW
As a Senior Moodle Developer specializing in customization and plugin development, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our online learning platform. You will be responsible for designing, customizing, and developing new Moodle plugins to meet the unique needs of our clients and ensure a seamless learning experience. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience working with Moodle, a strong technical background, and a passion for leveraging technology to transform education.
DESCRIPTION
Customize and enhance the Moodle LMS to align with specific client requirements and organizational goals.
Develop and maintain new Moodle plugins, extending the functionality of the platform to deliver innovative learning solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including instructional designers and UI/UX experts, to implement seamless integrations and ensure a user-friendly experience.
Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Moodle customizations, plugins, and integrations.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in e-learning technologies and Moodle development to suggest improvements and innovations.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers in the team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Work closely with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in integrating Moodle with other systems or external tools through web services or APIs.
Knowledge of e-learning standards such as SCORM and xAPI (Tin Can API).
Familiarity with mobile app development and responsive design principles for delivering a seamless user experience across devices.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Moodle Developer with a focus on customization and plugin development.
Expertise in PHP programming and strong knowledge of Moodle's architecture and APIs.
Proficient in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to design and implement user interfaces.
Extensive experience with MySQL or other relational databases and the ability to optimize database queries for improved performance.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git for collaborative development.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and priorities.
