- Analyse and optimize AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) for improved performance and cost-efficiency without compromising reliability.
- Review current resource utilization to eliminate over-provisioned resources, optimize storage and database configurations, and enforce effective tagging policies.
- Develop and implement automation for resource scaling, backup management, and shutdown policies for non-critical resources.
- Ensure that cost optimization does not compromise security, compliance, or disaster recovery needs.
- Set up and maintain real-time dashboards for cost and performance monitoring using AWS Cost Explorer, Cloud Watch, and other relevant tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Dev Ops, Finance, and Product, to align optimization strategies with business goals.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in AWS services: EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, Cloud Formation, IAM, Cloud Watch, and Cost Explorer.
- Proven experience with cloud cost optimization strategies, including RI purchases, Savings Plans, and rightsizing.
- Familiarity with AWS automation tools such as Lambda, Auto Scaling, and Cloud Formation.
- Knowledge of best practices in cloud architecture, security, compliance, and disaster recovery.
- Experience in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency.
- Familiarity with financial metrics and OPEX vs. CAPEX concepts.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Sys Ops Administrator, or similar certification is a plus.
